William H Bond

William H. Bond, age 89 of Troy, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at his home. He was born in Oaktown, IN on January 28, 1933 to the late Robert and Bessie (nee Ashby) Bond.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Mattie Bond, who passed away September 10, 2021; sisters, Roberta Perkins, Eloise Lee, and Helen South; and brother, Maurice Bond.

Those left to cherish William’s memory include his son, Jeff (Cerytine) Bond of Troy; daughter, Tracy (Kevin) Bowers of Bellbrook, OH; five grandchildren, Courtney, Amber, Christopher, Trevor, and Kate; and sister, Mary Polk of Bloomington, IN.

William was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Wright-Patt Air Force Base working as an Aeronautical Engineer. William graduated from Howe High School, received his Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University, and received his Master’s degree from the University of Dayton.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home with Pastor David Thomasson officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 prior to the service. Private interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery with a military service held by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
