Rubye Jewel Boyd

Rubye Jewel Boyd, age 88 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. She was born December 7, 1931 in Valiant, OK to the late Vashti E. Cherry and Conner Harrington.

Rubye is survived by her husband Elmo Boyd, Jr. of Troy; three sons: Elmo David Boyd (Mo), Bennie O. Boyd, and Micheal A. Boyd; three daughters: Christa V. Landis (Marty), Mary Jo Boyd (Ben Mitchell), and Leatha K. Self. Rubye is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Jordan and Ryan Boyd, Tyler and Brandon Boyd, Christin and Erinn Landis, Alicia Mitchell, Derek Boyd, Cody Boyd, Trishawna and Anson Block and many great-grandchildren too numerous to mention but not forgotten; special great-grandchildren Tiyanna Boyd, Peyton and Parker Jones, Madysen Doll, and Santana Stone.

Rubye was retired from the State of Ohio Unemployment Compensation where she was a claims examiner for 30 years. Rubye loved to shop and enjoyed watching her court shows and the NBA where she fell in love with LeBron James.

Mom is so loved and will be missed beyond words. We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and wishes plus flowers for Mom’s homegoing. We know her mother will be waiting to greet and take care of her. Rest in Peace Mom, we love you so much.
