Robert Andrew Ullery, “Bob” the man, the myth, the legend, blew this popsicle stand on June 1, 2022. How can one sum up a life in a few paragraphs? We are going to give it a whirl.
On September 14, 1943 Bob graced the world with his presence and thrilled his parents Clem and Ruth (Hughes) Ullery.
He lived his entire life in the Troy area. There he met and married his high school sweetheart Ann Tyminski. They were married for 42 years and had not one but two EPIC daughters before her untimely death in 2007. He graduated from Troy High School Class of 1961. He then went to and graduated from Hobart Welding School. He worked as a pipefitter out of Local 162, and was a part-time farmer raising Simmental cattle. “Raise them all Simmental”. He also cut and sold firewood. Bob was a member of Franklin Lodge #14 F & A.M., the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, The Troy Fish and Game as well as Pleasant Hill Fish and Game.
After retirement, Bob enjoyed traveling in his RV, which cousin Eddie would have envied. Shi%$er was never full. Those who know him, know, he loved mowing his yard and tending his ivy. (LOL).
Bob had a quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor until the end. He raised a lot of hell when he was younger but like a fine wine, he improved with age. Many will miss him, some won’t. Especially Joe Johnson Chevrolet. His intentions were always good. His performance, however, wasn’t always in sync. Of his many “Bobisms” one of our favorites was “I can stand 5 minutes of radiation but I can’t stand a liar.”
We will wind this up. He was proceeded in death by his sisters Judy M. Manning and Karen Ullery and his dogs Mouse, Pepper, Tootsie, Chainsaw, Weebie, Tater, and Shorty.
Bob leaves behind his daughters Shelly (Greg) Rhodes, Lynne (Chris) Osting, grandchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Heitic, Meggan (Chris) Jones, Jordan (Emily) Osting, Michael (Dawn) Rhodes, Geoffrey (Alexandria) Rhodes, Lauren (Carlos) Fernandez and 9 great-grandchildren, his brother-in-law Edward (Wanda) Tyminski and his cousin Marsha Hall, lifetime friends (and you know who you are) and a legacy of ”Family First”.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Marsha Hall, Reyn Angle, Bonnie Smith, his neighbors, for being there to help and support him when his family couldn’t, as well as McDonald’s for serving him coffee every morning.
