Maurice "Dale" Bashore, Jr

Maurice “Dale” Bashore, Jr. went home to be with the Lord at 2:17 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2023 at his residence in Troy, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Dale Bashore, Sr. and Thelma (Mangas) Bashore, his grandson, Robbie Lawrence, brothers Michael Bashore of CA, Harold Bashore of Celina, OH and John Bashore, of AZ and sister Carolyn Martin of MI.

Dale is survived by his wife Gloria (Lewis) Bashore, his daughters, Lesley (Jason) Carr of Troy, OH, Amy (Kevin) Kohlhorst of Fletcher, OH, grandchildren, Iris (Cody), Kelsey, Kortney and Jason, II (Dakota),  great-grandchildren, Baylee, Kingston, Burkley, Liam, Miles, Addiline, Carson, and Evelyn, sister Nancy (Dan) Hile of NC, Norma Bashore, WA, brother Roger Davis of Troy, OH and brother-in-law Chris Lewis of Casstown, OH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dale graduated from Troy High School and served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He worked as a machine operator at Brown Bridge and was a member and trustee of Troy VFW Post #5436.

He was a man of God, loyal, truly loved his family and friends, proud to be a veteran and loved what the American flag stood for.

A graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Troy on Tuesday, May 9 at 11:00am officiated by Pastor Sarah Hardin of Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church, Tipp City. A military service will also be held by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his memory to Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church, VFW Post 5436 and Hospice of Miami County.
