Judy Iliene (Carver) Thuma

Judy Iliene Thuma, age 74 of Troy, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy. She was born on July 23, 1947 in Troy to the late Charles C. and Hilda I. Stewart Carver.

In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her children Dwane and Heidi Thuma; brothers Douglas and Charles “Chuck” Carver; and sister-in-law Penny Thuma.

Those left to cherish Judy’s memory include her loving husband, of 57 years, Craig Thuma of Troy; daughter Jennifer (Brad) Goings of Blue Springs, MO; brothers Richard (Bridget) Carver of Beavercreek, OH and Gary (Kat) Carver of Troy; sister-in-law Michele Carver of PA; brother-in-law Ronald Thuma of Tipp City, OH; sister-in-law Sheril Thuma (Cary) Brewer of Cincinnati, OH; brother-in-law Christopher (Marilyn) Thuma of Rarden, OH; grandchildren Chris Thuma, DJ Thuma, Allen Thuma, Aaron Goings, Megan Goings Garten and Ian Goings; great grandchildren D.J. Thuma, Wyatt Thuma, Quinn Thuma, Aria Goings, Cadence Goings, Harper Goings and Theodora Garten; nephews, Kevin (Becca) Carver and Jeff (Gayle) Carver both of PA; and many other beloved family and friends.

Judy had such a kind heart and adored her family. She was very involved in her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s lives; she had a passion for teaching them how to swim and how to play the piano. She also enjoyed playing bingo, cards, crocheting, reading her Bible, cooking, and being outdoors. She attended Miami East High School and later went on to opening her own business with her son. Her last job she had was working as a cashier at Fazoli’s in Troy. Judy and Craig belonged to Grace Baptist Church in Ludlow Falls, OH.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Judys cousin, Pastor Andy Day officiating. A visitation will take place prior from Noon until 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, PO Box 502, Troy, OH 45373.  Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy, Ohio.
