Jimmy Wayne Dowty

Jimmy Wayne Dowty, age 76 of Chico, CA, formerly of Troy, passed away May 13, 2020. He was born November 27, 1943 in Spokane, WA to the late Verne E. and Ruth (Martin) Dowty.

Jimmy is survived by his daughters: Fawn Lowe (Jim Fox) of Tipp City, Mary Lowe (Raymond Barnhart) of Troy, Janet Goebel (Terry) of Washington, Phyllis Hollinger (Tim) of Pennsylvania, and Tammy Corkell (Tim) of Harrington, DE; son Carl Lowe of Dayton; grandchildren; Elizabeth, Ayden, Holden, JoJo, Ben, Robert, Megan, Matt, Johnny, Hailey, Graham, Jordan, Tammy, Tom, Traci, Natasha, Brittany, and Timmy; great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Gabriel, one on the way-Delilah, Trina, Aiden, Natalie, Keira, Riley, and Kenna; sisters: Patricia Starkey of Chico, CA and Linda Snyder (Woody) of Nevada; and brother Terry Dowty of Springfield, OR.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren; brothers: Richard, Mike, Verne, and Dennis Dowty; and infant sister Barbara Jean.

Jimmy was a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed coin collecting, playing cards and dice and frequenting Native American Pow Wows. He especially loved his dogs and watching wresting and Animal Planet. Jimmy had previously worked at Hobart Brothers in Troy for many years and also worked as a security guard at Feather Falls Indian Casino in Chico.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
