Jerry Howard McLees

Jerry Howard McLees, age 79 of Troy, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at his residence. He was born August 7, 1944 in San Diego, CA.

Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Joan Jankowski.

Those left to cherish Jerry’s memory include his wife of 18 years Nancy (Grater) McLees; daughters Heather (Gary) Hanna of San Raphael, CA and Caitlin (Zarak) Khrushid of Oakland, CA; stepchildren Daniel (Shawna) Bowman of Troy, Susan (Dewayne) Davis of Lebanon, TN, and Elizabeth (James) Green of Durango, CO; 10 grandchildren; sister Janet (Loren Spector) McLees of Santee, CA; and brother Bruce (Nancy) McLees of San Diego, CA.

Jerry was a US Army veteran. He received his master’s degree in English from San Diego State University and was a member of American Legion Post #43, Troy. Jerry was an active tennis player and a dedicated surfer throughout his life. He cherished traveling with his wife across the country and throughout the world. Jerry worked as an environmental planner for AE COM and worked for San Diego County.

The family would like to thank hospice nurses Allison and Angie for their care and compassion, as well as good friend Sandra Schwartz.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3:00PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at American Legion Post #43, Troy. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
