Dwight Barlow Clay, age 74 of Troy, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020. He was born July 2, 1946 in Troy to the late William Jeffers and Betty Jane (Douglas) Clay.
Dwight is survived by his wife Barbara (Criner) Clay, who he married July 21, 1989; four sons: Dwight Malcolm Clay (Anita) of Dayton, Brad Elliot Clay (Erin) of Seattle, WA, Sean Yeager Clay (fiancé Krissy Kenton) of Sidney, and Mario Criner (fiancé Cristy Basinger) of Troy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers: William D. Clay (Amy) of Okinawa, Japan and Thomas K. Clarke (Barbara) of Piqua; seven sisters: Sheena Harris (James) of Troy, Jeanne Atkins of Troy, Elizabeth Brown of Rosharon, TX, Geraldine Belcher (Charles) of Troy, Teresa Byers (Frayser) of Charlotte, NC, Nadine Redfearn (William) of Troy, and Marjorie Pirtle (Leroy) of Dayton; sister-in-law Phyllis Battle of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Battle and one sister, Tayeba Redfearn.
Dwight was a longtime Christian and a member of True Vine Church in Piqua. He was an exceptional bowler and loved to workout and exercise. He loved spending time with his wife, family, and his dog Mickey. Dwight was a hardworking and skilled construction worker for many years.
A funeral service will be held 12:00PM Monday, July 27, 2020 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Irvin C. Wallace officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM-12:00PM prior to the service. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing protocol. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Memorial contributions may be given to True Vine Church and Hospice of Miami County.
