Amaryllis Jean Grubbs, age 93, formerly of Troy, entered ETERNAL LIFE on December 21, 2020 surrounded by family at her home in Palmetto, Florida. She was born on January 13, 1927 in Troy, Ohio to the late Roscoe and Edna (Welborn) Stager.
She is survived by daughter Carol (Rick) Seiler of Parrish, FL, daughter Janet Grubbs of Palmetto, FL, son Stephen Grubbs of Palmetto, FL and son David (Donna) Grubbs of Lewis Center, OH. Grandchildren: Shawn (Francesca) Seiler, Troy (Elaine) Seiler, Lindsey Pride, Andrew Grubbs and Jonathan Grubbs. Great grandchildren: Jackson, Tyson, Salvatore, Ebby and Syler.
She was preceded in death by Kenneth Grubbs, Sr., her husband of 39 years, a son, Kenneth Grubbs, Jr.; brother, Norbert Stager, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Linda Grubbs; infant siblings Keith Stager and Millicent Stager, and her parents.
Amaryllis (Amy) was devoted to the Lord and her family. She found her loving mate in husband, Kenny, eloping with him at age 18. Nothing made her happier than having all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren around her. You could not find a more caring person who cherished her friends and was always there to support them in their time of need. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, particularly when playing cards. Her love for the Lord became evident at a very young age and she shared that love with so many throughout her lifetime. She mastered tap dancing and skating early in life and loved traveling, cooking and decorating. But most of all she loved God and her family. The legacy she left behind will never be forgotten.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to express thanks to Tidewell Hospice of Manatee County for their help and care. Donations can be made to them at: Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. Condolences to the family can be sent to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home.
