Earl Berkley Plantz, age 86 of Troy, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Upper Valley Medical Center Hospice Unit, Troy. He was born March 31, 1932 in South Side, WV to the Basil and Belva (Wallace) Plantz.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sara Nancy (Drew) Plantz; son Greg and daughter Cindy, both of Troy; four grandchildren: Joseph, Elizabeth, Myranda, and Stephanie Black; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Dial Plantz of Troy, Judson Plantz of Gallipolis, Linden Plantz of Jackson Center, and Basil Plantz of Branson, MO; sisters Lois Northup (Duane) of Troy and Mary Maxson (Carl) of Patriot.
He was preceded in death by brother J.R. and son David.
Earl was a member of Troy Gospel Tabernacle. He enjoyed wood working and camping with his family. He was retired from Hobart Brothers after 28 years of service.
A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Troy Gospel Tabernacle with Earl’s brother, Rev. Basil Lewis Plantz officiating and Rev. David Ashburn assisting. Visitation will be from 1:00PM-2:00PM at the church prior to the service. A fellowship will follow the memorial service at the church.
