Donald K. "Woody" Wooddell

Donald K. “Woody” Wooddell, age 87 of Troy, passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at Springmeade Health Center, Tipp City. He was born October 26, 1931 in Fletcher to the late George C. and Sylvia (Parsons) Wooddell.

Woody is survived by his four sons: Michael Wooddell (Carlene) of Kettering, Jeffrey Wooddell (Teresa) of Piqua, Rex Wooddell (Amber) of Troy, and Glen Wooddell (Paula) of Troy; daughter Pamela Daffner (Dan) of Troy; 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters: Alice Mangen (Ralph) of Versailles and Judith Cost of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby E. (Divens) Wooddell, who passed away December 27, 2008; two brothers: Lester Wooddell and William Wooddell; two sisters: Lois Forsythe and Joan Alspaugh; and granddaughter Jackie Lynn Wooddell.

Woody was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a 1949 graduate of Covington High School and a member of Troy Fish and Game. Woody retired as a machinist, having been employed with NCR, Crane Pumps in Piqua, and Catlow, Inc. in Huber Heights.

A funeral service will be held 10:30AM Monday, November 19, 2018 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Rev. David Ramming officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00PM-5:00PM on Sunday, November 18 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military honors by the Veteran’s Memorial Honor Guard of Troy.
