Eydie M. Akers (Rutter) died on February 21, 2024, at the age of 80 in Troy, Ohio after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on November 29, 1943, in Nelsonville, Ohio.
Eydie lived an extraordinary life as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother/great who had a passion for traveling, especially to the beach. She was known for her impeccable decorating and homemaking skills as well as her fiery spirit.
She is survived by her earthly angel, caretaker and beloved husband of 62 years, Richard Akers of Albany, sons Greg Akers (Sheryl) of Centerville, Brian Akers (Laura) of Weston Florida, daughters Kim McGuirk (Doug Train) of Troy, and Karissa Hept (Corey) of Tipp City.
She so loved her 15 Grandchildren Jesse, Jackson, Emily, Joshua, Cody, Ashlyn, Morgan, Carly, Jack, Mike, Kyle, Shelby, Will, Lilly and Edward and 3 Great Grandchildren Hunter, Peyton and Eloise.
She is also survived by brother, Larry, sister, Deb, and foster siblings Mike Meek and Mendy Abrahamson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Eydie was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Beatrice Rutter, and special foster parents Gerald and Jennie Lou Meek.
Family will be participating in private services.
