Harold W. Newnam, age 90 of Troy, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Troy Care Center. He was born September 29, 1926 in Potsdam to the late Malcolm L. and Pearl M. (Wilt) Newnam.

Harold was married to Betty (Brown) Newnam, and she survives in Troy. He is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne and Terri Newnam of Troy, and David and Janet Newnam of Troy; daughter Lois Russell of Troy; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Clarence and Joyce Newnam of Troy, and Joe and Elizabeth Newnam of Tipp City.

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Ed, Gus, and Donald Newnam; as well as two sisters: Ruth Tankersley and Grace Baker.

Harold was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He attended Staunton School in Miami Co. and was a charter member of Troy View Church of God. Harold worked for several area new car dealerships as Parts Manager, and retired as Parts Manager from Troy Ford in 1988.

A funeral service will be held 11:30AM Friday, January 13, 2017 at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy with Pastor Dan Cain officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 10AM-11:30AM at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Troy with Military Service at graveside by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard of Troy. Memorial contribution's may be made to Troy View Church of God: 1770 N Co Rd 25A, Troy, OH 45373. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy.
