Charlie Neal “Chuck” McCloud, age 90 of Troy, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Koester Pavilion, Troy. He was a longtime member of Richard’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Troy and worshiped faithfully until his health failed.

Chuck was the son of Ed Douglas and Hattie Bell McCloud, who both preceded him in death.

Chuck attended High School in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and later joined the Armed Forces as a member of the US Army and fought during WWII, where he later received an honorable discharge after 4 years of service. He was also a 33rd Master Mason. He worked at the former Hobart Bros., and retired there. Chuck also worked for the Sherriff’s Department. He loved fishing and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He was married to Edith Taborn, who preceded him in death, and had two sons: Thomas B. McCloud and Gary King, who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by two granddaughters: Elaine (Mike) Bonds and Casey King; great-granddaughter Letrice Patton; great-great-granddaughter Zaniyah Mosby; beloved sister Edith Harris of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; nephew Melvin (Yolanda) McCloud; two nieces: Barbara (Anthony) Howell and Kia Harris, all of Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

He also leaves behind to cherish his memories some very special relatives and many special friends, especially his buddy Harry Jackson of Troy, and special cousin Mary Ann Brownlee of Chicago, Illinois.

God looked around his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
And saw Chuck's tired face.

He put His arms around him
And lifted him to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew that Chuck was suffering,
He knew that he was in pain.
He knew that he would never
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed Chuck's weary eyelids
And whispered “Peace be thine.”

It broke our hearts to lose him
But he did not go alone…
For part of us went with him
The day God called our beloved Chuck home.

(Rest in Love: sister Edith, nephew Melvin, nieces Barbara and Kia- Arkadelphia, Arkansas)
